At least that is where we see hope…

One of the last great spaces for passionate and fact-based conversation amongst people who disagree, is the sports bar.  Most of the time the conversation centers around the game, the players, the coaches, the refs (those stupid refs!), and some regional pride.

We push it just a bit more, knowing that the time and effort people put into sports can also translate into civic action…if we make it fun and relatable enough!

Some of the issues:

• Who pays for and who makes money off of stadiums? Who decides?
• What is to be done about international soccer’s racist and homophobic chants from fans?
• How to fix the gender pay gap for professional athletes?
• What is the effect of billionaires on sports teams/leagues?
• Why are militarism and patriotism embedded into NFL games?

And more and more and more…
