What La Raza Park Day and Cruise is all about
It started with “A Cruise Down Fedz: highlighting and celebrating Denver’s long standing Chicano, car and cruising cultures. It was a parade, a moving museum, a declaration of appreciation, and celebration of an incredible American art form and integral aspect of Denver culture.
Then, it became La Raza Park Day and Cruise.
Community organizers and cultural workers Ben Chavez and JOLT, amongst many others past and present, have gathered the car clubs and lowriders from the community for a celebration that spans many neighborhoods, anchored by La Raza Park. This is always one of the biggest Lowrider events of the season! Enjoy music, food, vendors, Lucha Libre Wrestlers, lowriders, break dancing, Aztec dancers, and the community! There is live art, stories on the history of the community and culture, and we learn about current plans for infrastructure and economic development—and how residents can be involved in that process.
