Our Revolutionary Crew
Evan wears many hats with Warm Cookies, including creating live events, installations, videos, music, and books. He is horrible at drawing and swimming, among many other deficiencies.
Adrian H Molina, aka Molina Speaks, is an artist, poet, and master of ceremonies. Molina is a New America Us@250 Fellow. He does it all at Warm Cookies from program design to poetic scribing to coordinating our Future Town program.
Roxann was born and raised in the brackish water of South Florida where she was required to successfully wrestle an alligator to graduate high school. She has lived many different lives as an Army mechanic, snowboard instructor, south Pacific wanderer, and mother. Roxann has been the graphic designer for Warm Cookies since it started in 2012, and is now in charge of the hands-on interactivities. She doesn't like eating cookies at all.
Stevie is a multifaceted creator with expertise in visual storytelling & musical journeying. Through his camera and his music, he's sure to capture and express the best moments of time through his creations. Stevie DJ's, shoots video, and a bunch of other wonderful things with Warm Cookies.
Roshan is an accomplished community organizer, nonprofit leader, and policy advocate, specializing in public engagement, youth-adult partnerships, and social change campaigns. He helped lead Warm Cookies' THIS MACHINE HAS A SOUL! which was the world's first arts-based participatory budgeting process. He also provides facilitation, technical assistance, and training to nonprofits and government agencies with his Bliss Collaborations consulting firm.
Joie is the daughter of refugees, a community organizer of over 15 years, and an avid binge reader of all things fiction. She has done a little bit of this and a little bit of that for Warm Cookies for many years.
Jolt is a born and raised Denver artist, activist, and proud co-coordinator of La Raza Park Day (among other Warm Cookies' programs that feature his artwork).
Felix is a multi-instrumentalist, sound painter & singer-songwriter. His sound is a blend of our emotional landscapes & the deeply empathic mixed w/ worldly avant-soul. He is a jack of all trades for our Future Town Tour!
Maryam came to the USA in 2016 and connected to Aurora right away, joining many community projects focused on issues important to her. She helps run our Suburb Futures project because Aurora represents a place where she can create memories with people she loves and cares about.
Eyni came to Aurora from Somalia as a refugee. She never imagined she would find a place to call home, but Aurora, Colorado, has become that and much more. Eyni leads our Suburb Futures project and has found her voice, identity, and community in Aurora. Eyni is a henna artist and a poet. She shares her poetry to encourage her fellow refugees to overcome their struggles and be a voice for their community.
izaiah learned to bake by watching his grandma Vada, and will spend the rest of his life searching for donuts as good as the ones from Don's Bakery in his hometown, Hendricks, MN. He has baked thousands upon thousands of cookies for our programs for well over a decade, and everyone loves them!
Stephanie is many things, including one of the leads of our Suburb Futures project. She is a model, focused on body activism and Latinx representation within the modeling industry. She is also Program Coordinator at the Latino Community Foundation of Colorado. Stephanie serves on the board of Directors for GALS, Denver's only all girls' public school.
Mayra, a first-generation Mexican-American community leader in Denver, believes in putting communities first. With a background in community organizing and urban planning, she is dedicated to empowering communities to drive equitable change, ensuring their voices are heard and valued in decision-making processes that shape their neighborhoods and futures. Mayra has worked on various Warm Cookies programs, including Participatory Budgeting and lots of community engagement and interpretation.
Davry is a professional dancer, model, stylist, and pioneer of House and Ball culture in Colorado. Davry leads Warm Cookies' work with the House and Ball community and is a fierce advocate and representative of Black Queer lifestyle in workplaces and artist spaces. Davry coordinated Ask Me 3 Questions and The Miracle Ball, advocating and educating about sex work decriminalization and ending cash bail.
Tumura joined the Suburb Futures project team because she wanted to learn and explore more about the community she lives in. Tumura didn't have the opportunity to live in a community like Aurora before, and now understands the value and importance of living here.
Juan is a photo-based artist born in Chihuahua, México and raised in the Northside neighborhood of Denver. His kinship to the barrio is evident within his photography, installations, and community projects which explore intimate stories of everyday life of immigrants and Chicanos in the U.S. Juan examines the visual and emotional artifacts of memory, erasure, and family—creating records that affirm and center marginalized communities. His photos are featured in our "we trust our wings" board book.
2MX2 is a revolutionary bilingual band whose music combines traditional Latin, alternative, pop, and urban rhythms, seamlessly blending English and Spanish (Spanglish). Their music carries a powerful message, fearlessly addressing significant social issues like immigration, health, and education reform through meaningful and thought-provoking lyrics. In addition to their work on Future Town Tour in the San Luis Valley (where they have deep commitment and roots), 2MX2 have helped on various Warm Cookies programs over the years.
Erica is the third generation of her family to live in Aurora. To her, Aurora represents the future, as a place of constant change and adaptation, where many people come to and can connect to a sense of belonging. Erica wants to help uplift that future through Suburb Futures, which she created and coordinates. She does about a billion other cool things too...
Jane Kirema is a dedicated Project Coordinator for the Aurora Civic House Party at Warm Cookies of the Revolution, with a diverse professional background spanning administration, business management, accounting, and social work. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Regis University and an MBA from Western Governors University. Jane is passionate about community engagement and actively volunteers to connect people with essential resources. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.
Bobby is a writer, performer, and cultural worker fusing a non-traditional multi-hyphenated professional identity to empower communities, construct new realities, advance arts and culture, and serve as an agent of provocation, transformation, equity and social change. He wrote our "we trust our wings" board book!
Ground-breaking Board Members
Lawrence is a Sicangu Lakota (Burnt Thigh), more popularly know as Rosebud Sioux, and has lived in Denver most of his life and has worked for social change and the betterment of his community since college. Larry was Lead commissioner of the Mayor's American Indian Advisory Council and served as three term chair of the Denver American Indian Commission.
Eyni fled Somalia to Kenya in 2006 and was resettled in the United States in 2013. She attended the University of Colorado Denver and received her Bachelor of Art in Sociology and Ethnic Studies minor in 2023. Eyni is a part of the Colorado Refugee Speakers Bureau, an organization that provides a platform for refugee individuals to engage in storytelling and share their experiences. Eyni wants to build a bridge between cultures and finds an opportunity to be at the decision-making table.
Ginger is Senior Manager for Field Learning at Hello Fresh. She was formerly the Director of School Wellness at Pioneer Charter School. Ginger was Sales Partnership Executive at Revolution Foods, a company dedicated to providing access to healthy and nutritious food for all children regardless of their socio-economic status. Prior to her work at Revolution Foods, Ginger was Director of Youth and Family Programs at Mi Casa Resource Center for Women. She is passionate about youth leadership and social justice issues.
Garett is the son of a Vietnam Veteran and grandson of two World War II Veterans. He served in the U.S. Army as a Cavalry/Scout Sniper in the 1st Infantry Division. Garett completed a deployment in Kosovo on a 9-month peace-keeping mission and a combat tour in Baquaba, Iraq. Garett gained an Honorable Discharge in May of 2005 and began working as a veterans advocate and a dedicated activist. He served as the Chairman of the Board of Iraq Veterans Against the War and as the Executive Director for Veterans For Peace before he and his wife opened an ice cream shop!
Stewart Tucker was born in Camp Springs, Maryland on Andrews Air Force Base. At the age of 14, he was injured in a diving accident in Shreveport, Louisiana. The accident made him a C-4 C-5 quadriplegic incomplete. Stewart sits on the committee for the Performing Arts Center in Denver, as well as the Denver African American Commission. Stewart also sits on a committee for the Arts and Venues for the Disabled which strives to make Denver more accessible for wheelchair users, as well as visually and hearing-impaired individuals.
James is a social entrepreneur, community-driven professional, and artist. He is the Executive Director of Denver Metro Community Impact and the Founder of Urbanity Advisors and Urbanity Gallery. He has worked in community development for over ten years and has a passion for cultivating healthy communities through community engagement. His career has focused on developing community-guided neighborhood assets through full integration of community voice, coupled with the urban planning field's best practices of placemaking.
Mitch formed Listen Productions in 2006 and has been a part of hundreds of projects spanning all genres, formats, and styles. Mitch was named one of the “ Top 10 Documakers to Watch” by Variety Magazine. He produces and directs films in Colorado, including, Hanna Ranch, Rolling Papers, Silent Rose, Casting Jon Benet, and Being Evel. Mitch holds a BFA in Film/Television with a minor in Political Science from the University of Colorado at Denver. Mitch cares deeply about his community in Denver, Colorado, and that is why he’s a board member of Warm Cookies of the Revolution
Mary Grace was born in the Philippines & raised in the Westwood neighborhood of Denver, Colorado, is a video artist & the creative director of Lockerpartners Video. Skilled in writing, cinematography, and video editing, she has collaborated with organizations, artists, activists, & individuals to document events, produce music videos, tell stories, animate ideas, and create original video programming. Previous Colorado clients & collaborators include the Denver Public Library, the Boys & Girls Club, Mercy Housing, Theatre Artibus, the Denver Art Museum, Colorado College, Visit Denver & the Denver Film Festival. A short film she co-created in 2013 premiered at the Hot Docs International Festival in Toronto.
Maytham was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq. He had to put his education on hold because of war and worked as a Combat Interpreter/Translator with the US Army until coming to the United States in 2008. Maytham worked as an Organ Transplant Registered Nurse while advocating for the immigrant and refugee community. He established and directed DRIVE Project, a community-based nonprofit that focused on empowering refugees and immigrants to become their own advocates through civic engagement. Through his work with DRIVE Project, Maytham was able to spearhead a law that enabled refugees and immigrants to qualify for instate tuition upon resettlement, which is a right that he was not afforded when he first resettled in the United States. He then transitioned into politics serving as District Director and Deputy Chief of Staff for Congressman Crow. Maytham enjoys fly-fishing and spending time with his wife and family.
Rebecca is Senior Advisor for Youth and Schools for the City of Boston. She served her first decade in education as department chair and high school science teacher at Sierra High School in Colorado Springs, CO. Rebecca holds her doctorate in Education Leadership (Ed.L.D.) from the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Rebecca led the instructional design for Black Futures Lab’s Black Policy Institute, a 30-week policy advocacy and leadership training fellowship designed to prepare selected Fellows to make legislative and policy interventions that advance Black political power, change the way power operates, and improve the lives of Black people.
Karl is an arts advocate, entrepreneur, and venture capital investor in range of sectors, from real estate and technology to alternative energy and media. He sits on a number of boards including the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver, the National Solutions Council of Rocky Mountain Institute, and the Advisory Boards of the Living City Block and the Canary Project. Karl is the past President of the Museum of Contemporary Art Denver Board of Trustees. Previously, Karl was Chief Operating Officer for New York City based Digital Telemedia (now Logicworks), which he co-founded in 1993.
